Born and raised in Elk River, Minnesota, Rob’s career has taken him on a cross-country adventure. A St. Cloud State University alum, Rob began his career in Eau Claire (WEAU), Wisconsin. He then went onto Madison (WMTV), Los Angeles and San Diego, (where he won an Emmy at KSWB) before returning home to Minneapolis and joining KARE 11. Rob then worked as Morning Anchor and Producer for Montana Today at NBC Montana (KECI) in Missoula before becoming the main news anchor at WDAZ, the ABC affiliate in Grand Forks, ND., where he helped the station win it’s first-ever Emmy Award in 2014 for team news coverage.
In his spare time, you can catch Rob spending time with his family, gardening or fishing.
Rob enjoys most sports, but his favorite is hockey. Rob has served as the TV play by play announcer for the University of Wisconsin and St.Cloud State, NCAA Division 1 men’s hockey teams. He played for both the Austin Mavericks and the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
Rob’s biggest source of pride is his family. He and his wife Becca live in the Minneapolis area with their daughter Presley.
